Don't migrate, split it.

Can you move your Wix store to Framer? No.
Anyone who tells you otherwise has not tried it.

Because Framer has no checkout. Never had one.
So you need a workaround.

What actually happens when "migrating"

Go look at Framer's own comparison page against Wix. Design, CMS, SEO, hosting, agents.

The word ecommerce doesn't appear once. That's not an oversight, that is just their positioning.

Selling in Framer runs through 3rd party plugins.
Frameshop puts Stripe underneath.
Framer Commerce ? Shopify.
Framer's own academy tells you to sell using Lemon Squeezy.

All fine, but notice what they have in common: the store lives somewhere else, not natively in Framer.

So a "migration" isn't a migration. You keep the shop system anyway, you just swap which one to show.

And you pay for it: payments reconnected, orders rebuilt, stock re-entered, tax settings redone, customer accounts gone, order history gone.
For a design change.

Wix figured this out.
before most customers did.

Look at Wix’s own comparison page. Section ecommerce capabilities, an entire block.

They know exactly where they win.

Then look at what they did next.

May 2026, Wix cut lots of staff, around 1,000 people, and the CEO named AI as the reason.
June 2026, Wix shows up as an official partner in Codex Enterprise launch, with Wix Headless as the layer underneath.
July, another announcement: Wix Headless now plugs into Claude Code, Codex and Base44.

I think Wix is done with being just the shop window.
They want to be the main engine for ecommerce.

Which is the part nobody can generate in four minutes and a claude subscription.
Order history, payment flow, stock, customer data, that’s the expensive part.

How it works.

Framer takes the front: design, layout, animation, CMS pages, SEO, hosting.

Wix keeps the backend: products, prices, stock, payments, orders, customers, tax.

Nothing moves. Nothing gets exported. Nothing breaks.

Your store keeps running exactly as it does right now, you just stop letting it decide what your site looks like.

Why I built this.

I built this because I got stuck on it myself when working on a Wix Store project.

I got frustrated with the Wix Editor, as I wasn't used to it.
Started looking how to use Wix backend in Framer.

No solution. So I started , instead the shop project i built a Framer plugin lol.

And building it was not easy.

Wix authorization header was different to what I was used, but thanks to the Wix Headless team I found a way.

Checkout rejected my links at first.
CSV imports dropped images into the media library and cheerfully refused to attach them to any product.

None of that is in the docs in one place. It’s in mine now, so you don’t hit it. <3

What you give up

Read-only means read-only. Framix mirrors your Wix catalog, it never writes back. If you want to change a price, you change it in Wix, same as today.

Checkout is a Wix’s page. Cart, product pages, everything up to the payment step is yours. The payment step is Wix’s, and honestly that’s where you want it, PCI compliance is not a thing you want to own.

Wix needs a Business plan, before it accepts a single payment. That’s Wix’s rule and it applies whether Framer is involved or not.

Sync runs on a schedule, not the instant something changes. Manual sync is there whenever you want it.

When you should actually migrate

If you don’t sell anything, migrate. A brochure site has no reason to keep two systems.

If you need the payment page itself fully designed in your own brand, this isn’t it.

Everyone else: your backend is fine. It’s the front that’s holding you back.

Start using Framix today

Free tier syncs a small catalog.

P.S. if you’ve been putting off the redesign because you were dreading the store migration, there was never a migration to dread.
